Val Grande National Park

The Val Grande National Park is located entirely in the Verbano Cusio Ossola region and it is part of the “Sesia-Val Grande Geopark”, a larger area of geological interest, which has become part of a worldwide network of Geoparks, sponsored by UNESCO. It is the largest wilderness area in the Alps, a stone’s throw from civilization, among steep ridges, solitary peaks and canyons. A unique valley, where nature is slowly regaining its spaces: endless forests, clear waters and undisputed silences accompany every step. The Park territory tells also the story of the mountain culture, narrated by the places and people of the towns and villages that surround the area between Ossola, Verbano, Val Vigezzo, Intrasca and Cannobina valleys.
